OpenSeat’s mission is to ensure no student ever has to feel alone. Every one of us has had that moment where we walk into a lunchroom, a classroom, onto a bus, or in social settings and aren’t sure where to sit and if we’ll be accepted. It’s a moment of vulnerability but also a moment of opportunity when a seat is enthusiastically offered. Through OpenSeat’s app, students have effective coaches available whenever they are in need.
OpenSeat offers a diverse set of trained and supervised mental wellness coaches, virtually and on-demand, to a school’s students for short-term care. This allows schools to extend their current in-school counseling services around the clock, on weekends and vacation breaks, and when need occurs for students and in-school professionals may not have the capacity for support.
By providing schools, and their students, access to our diverse team of coaches, we help schools drive more equitable outcomes in GPA, attendance, discipline outcomes, and retention for all students.
OpenSeat’s student app provides:
-Secure virtual, live, and 1:1 access to OpenSeat’s trained and supervised coaches via video or chat
-Matching features that helps students pair with professional that may share the identity markers or backgrounds a student prefers
-Scheduling features that help students and their coach coordinate time efficiently
-Passive mental health resources for students, families, and schools available at all times
-A rating and feedback feature for continuous growth and improvement of coaching supports
